About the Company

KOBIT (Komunální Bitumenová Technika - Municipal Bitumen Technology) specialises in the development and manufacture of machines and equipment designed for the repair and construction of asphalt roads, including their maintenance during both summer and winter seasons. The company’s portfolio also includes municipal equipment for street
cleaning, waste collection, water tank vehicles and sewer cleaning vehicles. In addition, KOBIT offers equipment for the transport of asphalt, heating oils and fuels, including military refuelling units and fire-fighting equipment.

KOBIT is a purely Czech company that has gradually grown to become a significant manufacturer and supplier not only on the domestic market but also internationally. The company was founded in Prague in 1991, where it began operations in rented premises. In 1996, it relocated to newly built facilities in Jičín, where all development, manufacturing, assembly and service activities are now carried out. Over time, the company has continued to expand the site with additional production facilities and office space.

Kobit Holding

KOBIT Holding, s.r.o. was established in the first half of 2010 and forms a capital- and production-linked group of companies that ensures the integrated manufacture and sale of the machines and equipment produced by all companies within the holding. Majority ownership interests in the individual companies are held and managed by the Nožička family – Petr, Jan and Jaroslav Jr.
The idea of creating a holding structure emerged as a natural result of the development of KOBIT, spol. s r.o., which involved not only production and technical growth, but also commercial expansion. The main objective was to organise ownership relations and separate certain activities from KOBIT’s core manufacturing operations.
Today, the holding comprises a total of nine companies, including a Slovak subsidiary, specialised welding facilities, a paint shop, a manufacturer of electronic and hydraulic control systems, and a restaurant facility. The group employs more than 400 people. The “K” symbol represents the “KOBIT Group” – a closed circle within which the complete final product is created.

In 2013, a significant addition to the holding’s portfolio was KOBIT – THZ CZ s.r.o., based in Slatiňany, a traditional manufacturer of fire-fighting equipment for professional, corporate and volunteer fire brigades. In 2020, work was completed on an extensive reconstruction project and the construction of a new production hall, significantly upgrading production and increasing capacity.

A new technical hall was built in Jičín in 2016. It serves not only as a handover facility, but also as a centre for the sales department, design, and commercial-technical services (OTS). This step made management more efficient, streamlined cooperation between departments and brought a marked improvement in communication with customers.

In 2022, construction of a new paint shop was completed. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and large-capacity spray booths and meets all current environmental standards.

As regards the future direction of the holding, the company has focused primarily on commercial and international development, particularly on strengthening international relationships and identifying new export opportunities.
